Opening the box.
I place my hands on it's golden lid
The cries of my friends came from behind
They say stop but persist I did
It came off the box wiith a slight grating
A horrible ungodly sound
Roaring in our ears, the grey had truly come
And out came a creature with form so profound
It's eyes black as coals stared with contempt
And denied us even the thought of an attempt
It's horrible maw gaped in our faces
And it's scars showed it had been many places
The hands came around from it's head and opened up wide
They were so big, children could hide inside
They creeped down, ever closer still
And it screeched a sound terribly shrill
The fingers like blackened sausages with claws came around my throat
And when I looked to the box, not even hope was left to gloat
All was lost for me you see, until something happened
I stopped fearing it
